A HorizonCube consists of a dense set of correlated 3D stratigraphic surfaces. Each horizon in the HorizonCube represents a (relative) geologic time line. Horizons are created either in a model-driven way (stratal / proportional slicing, parallel to upper / lower), or in a data-driven way via a unique dip-steered auto-tracker. To run the data-driven mode a Dip-Steering license is needed. HorizonCubes impact all levels of seismic interpretation. They are used for: 1) detailed geologic model building, 2) low frequency model building for seismic inversions, 3) well correlations and sequence stratigraphic interpretation (SSIS).
The Well Correlation Panel plugin is used for picking well markers and correlating markers guided by seismic evidence. In combination with the HorizonCube the interpreter can use the HorizonCube slider for detailed seismic-steered correlations.
The SSIS plugin (Sequence Stratigraphic Interpretation System) is an add-on to the HorizonCube. SSIS supports full sequence stratigraphic analysis, including automated Wheeler transforms, systems tracts interpretations and annotations.
The dip-steering plugin allows you to create and use "steering cubes". A steering cube contains at every sample position the local dip and azimuth of the seismic events. Applications include: dip-steered filters (median, fault-enhancement), dip-steered attributes (similarity, volume curvature) and dip-steered horizon tracking (HorizonCube plugin).
The Neural network plugin supports supervised and unsupervised neural networks to combine multiple attributes into "meta-attributes". Amongst others TheChimneyCube® and TheFaultCube® can be made with this plugin. Other applications are: seismic facies analysis, pattern recognition, rock-property predictions.
CCB is used to detect subtle hydrocarbon-related seismic anomalies and to accurately pinpoint Gas-Water, Gas-Oil and Oil-Water contacts. CCB has a unique pre-stack option and supports a local option to enhance 4D anomalies.
SynthRock (new in v4.4) is a forward pseudo-well modeling and probabilistic inversion package. It consists of two modules: a profile module for creating cross-sections from real wells and a stochastic module for generating thousands of probabilistic models. Pre- and post-stack synthetic seismograms are created (optionally with internal multiples) which can be cross-matched against the measured seismic data in a HitCube inversion process to create probability volumes of target properties.
Seismic Spectral Blueing optimizes the vertical resolution of seismic data by shaping the seismic spectrum without boosting noise to unacceptable levels.
Seismic Feature Enhancement (new in v4.4) is a flat-spot utility that enhances the signal of consistent flat events and reduces the "noise" of the channel reflections.
Seismic Net Pay (new in v4.4) is an improved method to estimate net pay from seismic colour inverted data. It generates net pay and net-to-gross maps with uncertainties.
Allows you to grab a 3D scene in OpendTect and to save it in pdf format. The pdf file can then be shared with colleagues, managers and partners who can open it in the free Adobe Reader, or embedded in a Powerpoint presentation.
Deterministic Inversion includes a 3D model builder for constructing a priori impedance models using well log and seismic horizon data; a 2D error grid generation module for providing spatial inversion constraints and a model-based deterministic inversion module.
Stochastic Inversion includes the MPSI ultraFast stochastic inversion module for generating multiple geostatistical realizations and the utilities for processing the multiple realizations to represent the inversion uncertainty for lithology, porosity, saturation or other attributes as probability cubes. This plug-in is an add-on to the deterministic inversion plug-in.
XField 2D is a powerful, integrated potential field modelling software package. XField empowers explorationists with the tools to create 2D/2.5D geological models through fully integrating potential field data alongside seismic data and other available geophysical datasets in a 3D workspace.
