Gery,

There is indeed an interface under development to Madagascar open-source
seismic processing package. See
http://www2.opendtect.org/madagascar_rsf.html

We provide plug-ins create by dGB and other companies as plug-ins to
OpendTect: see http://www2.dgb-group.com/opendtect-plugins.html . There
also other companies we have build (proprietary ) plug-ins into OpendTect.

dGB and ARKCLS provide free academic licenses for some of their plug-ins
to universities: see http://www2.dgb-group.com/r_and_d_agreement.html

Since the OpendTect base version is open-source and freely available for
R&D type work (commercial use of OpendTect requires to pay the
maintenance fee) dGB expects also number of academic organizations to
build there own tools in OpendTect, but we do not keep an extensive list
of that.

On behalf of Gery and others I would like to encourage anyone who has
developed OpendTect plug-ins to share that with the user community via
the users at opendtect.org and the developers at opendtect.org mailinglists!

I hope this gives a good overview of our "complementary software".
