Dear users,

Also in Mapping and GIS, Open Source is gaining momentum. Therefore,
there is a session for it at the 33rd International Geological Congress
in Oslo. Here's the newsflash from Henning Lorenz:

Quote

A major Geoscience Information Super-Session will take place at the 33rd
International Geological Congress, including the session "Free and
open-source geospatial software: applications in Earth Sciences and
recent development." As one of the conveners I would be very glad to see
presentations from OpendTect developers and/or users in this session.
For more information please visit the wiki page at OSGEO:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/OSGeo_at_IGC2008
The congress website is located at http://www.33igc.org

The abstract deadline has been extended and is now the 29th February 2008.

PS OpendTect will probably not be represented there by a dGB-er ...
