Seismic Net Pay

Join us for a Webinar on May 2

Seismic Net Pay (SNP) estimates net pay thickness, or net reservoir
thickness depending on the input data and the calibration, starting from
a relative seismic impedance volume. Within OpendTect the SNP tool is
applied downstream from the Seismic Colored Inversion plugin. Relative
impedance volumes imported into OpendTect can also be used.

The basic workflow is:

●Pick top and base of the (gross) reservoir interval on zero crossings
of bandlimited impedance data

●Extract average band-limited impedance

●Estimate wavelet

●Calculate a detuning curve

●Apply the detuning curve to average band-limited impedance

●Apply first guess calibration and calculate net pay map

●Adjust calibration using well data

●Calculate uncertainties

The webinar will discuss the concept and workflow behind SNP and then
show the workflow applied in a live demo on a channelized reservoir
interval in the Central North Sea (F3). For more in depth technical
background read:

To evaluate SNP: The SNP plugin is developed by dGB partner company ARK
CLS and will be available for evaluation in next OpendTect version, 4.4.
OpendTect 4.4 will be released at the EAGE conference in Copenhagen June
4 - 7. To request an evaluation license, contact us at info at dgbes.com or
visit ARK CLS (booth 802) and dGB (booth 840) during the EAGE conference.
