Dear users,
The new development release of OpendTect 3.1.7 enables you to load,
display, use and manage pre-stack data. This is an overview of some new
functions that will be part of the next stable release 3.2.
1- Pre-stack gathers can displayed in the 3D scene, perpendicular to an
inline or crossline. You will need to display first some post stack data
on that inline/crossline. The post stack data you loaded does not need
to be linked to your pre-stack data. Once you have loaded the inline, go
to interact mode (graphical toolbar, second icon from the left),
right-click in the scene on top of your inline and use the option
"Display PS gather". The new menu will list any pre-stack data stored in
the survey. Please note that you can display multiple PS gathers on the
same inline, and the moving the inline to another position will keep the
position of the PS gather and update its content.
2- From the PS gather display in the 3D window you are also able to get
this gather in a 2D viewer. Once again in interact mode, right-click on
top of the PS gather and use the option "View in 2D Panel".
Please note that the PS gather are displayed without any processing like
mute or AGC.
3- A new attribute called "PreStack" enables you to compute statistics
(fold, ...) or extract attributes (least square fit) from the pre-stack
gather. Using axis transformations you will be able to extract intercept
and gradient attributes for advanced petrophysical work.
4- Concerning the management of pre-stack data, please have a look at
the upper left corner of the seismic manager. You will see a new icon
that will open the new pre-stack data manager.
Questions? Please do not hesitate to bring us your feedback about the
new functions.
Best regards,
Arnaud.
