Dear OpendTect user,

We started two new services to improve OpendTect usage.

A new work flows document gives brief descriptions of several common
work flows in OpendTect and its plugins. Work flows are grouped into
different categories such as attributes, filters, object detection and
inversion. Each work flow gives the main objective (why do we want to do
this) and the steps you have to take to perform the flow. Tips are given
with most flows and many also come with a tutorial (flash) video. In
these videos a conductor explains every step of the work flow (click
here, do this, do that etc). Some videos start with background info from
a (narrated) power point presentation (e.g. dip-steered median filter),
others only consist of a power point presentation (e.g.
chrono-stratigraphy) and yet others describe the work flow on the basis
of a real case study (e.g. chimney cube).

All videos can be accessed independent from the work flows document from
the tutorials-video website page. There are videos for every category of
users from beginners (e.g. basic interaction, start a new project (incl.
SEGY loading), horizon tracking, evaluate attributes) via regular users
(e.g. neural network porosity prediction, spectral bluing and colored
inversion) to power users (e.g. category "new in OpendTect 3.2": SSIS
interpretation module, MPSI stochastic inversion).

Please visit our websites at www.opendtect.org/tutorials.html and
www.dgb-group.com/tutorials.html to see the work flow document and the
tutorial videos.

Best regards,

Paul.

PS. Some of the work flows on filtering start with "Open the default set
called: ....". These default sets are delivered with v3.1.7 (the current
development release that will become the next stable release v3.2 later
this month). In v3.03 (the current stable release) the dip-steered
median filter can be found as the last attribute in the default set
called: "dGB Evaluate Attributes".
