Dear Glen,
OpendTect is indeed supported on Windows 7 Platform and is being used at
dGB (along with other OS). The performance may be better mainly because
latest operating systems generally come with upgraded hardware.
OpendTect version 4.0 and later are built with MSVC 2005. Therefore the
performance under Windows has slightly increased from versions V3.x to
V4.x.
Significant improvements also occur in 64 bits releases when used on 64
bits operating systems, in addition to a better memory management. This
is not only valid under windows but for all operating systems.
