[OpendTect_Users] Betr: RE: time-depth conversion

Dear all,

A few years ago we developed the link to GMT. We knew OpendTect fell short
in this domain and we realized that a direct link to a mapping package would
benefit our user community. We chose GMT because it is widely used in
Academia and it is an open source solution.

At this point in time we have no plans ourselves to build a direct link to
ISPoo3, or to any other commercial mapping package. Neither do we have plans
to build sophisticated map (de- / re-) migration functionality in OpendTect.
However, we are more than willing to contact ATOS Origin and try to
encourage them to develop a direct link. To increase the chance of success
it would be helpful to know the following:

   1. Are you currently using ISPoo3?
   2. If an OpendTect - ISPoo link is developed would you potentially be
   interested in acquiring ISPoo3?

To avoid cluttering of our users mailing list I would appreciate if anyone
who answers "YES" to the questions above would mail this to me personally:
paul.degroot at dgbes.com . In a few weeks time I will let you know the outcome
of this little survey.

Thanks and best regards,

Paul.
