Attributes & Filtering

Join us for a Webinar on June 20
Attribute application and filtering is an important step for
interpreters who wish to build a solid understanding of their seismic
data. Filtering can be applied to remove incoherent noise for optimizing
the data for horizon tracking or highlighting faults and ridges for
fault mapping. Further, certain attributes can be used e.g. for
highlighting subtle DHI’s in the data that might otherwise go
undetected. Please join dGB’s Kristoffer Rimaila who will present basic
filtering workflows along with powerful attributes included in the
latest release of OpendTect.
Workflows and attributes presented:
• Dip-steered Median Filtering: remove noise from the seismic data
• Fault Enhancement Filtering: enhance the visibility of faults in the
seismic data
• Ridge Enhancement Filtering: enhance faults and other discontinuities
in a similarity volume
• Optical stacking and Local Common Contour Binning (CCB): extract
"hidden" DHI signatures from the seismic data
