Chimney Interpretation Workflow
Join us for a Webinar on April 4
"Detecting Hydrocarbon Migration Pathways in Seismic Data"
Vertical hydrocarbon migration pathways are seen in normally processed
seismic data, as vertically aligned zones of chaotic, often low
amplitude, low frequency data called gas chimneys or gas clouds. David
Connolly, dGB's Chief Geologist will show how these features can be
detected and visualized in 3D using the Neural Network plug-in of
OpendTect. He will then discuss 7 criteria you can use to validate that
the processing results indicate true HC migration. Finally, he will
explain how the results can be used to risk prospects for charge and seal.
