Common Contour Binning

Join us for a Webinar on September 4
The topic of this month's webinar is 'Common Contour Binning' (CCB) and
how to complete the analysis of a seismic amplitude anomaly using this
tool. The CCB plugin is a seismic processing method available as a
commercial OpendTect plugin developed on behalf of Wintershall

CCB consists in stacking seismic traces along depth contours in order to
highlight subtle hydrocarbon-related seismic anomalies and allowing
identification of Oil/Water, Gas/Water or Gas/Oil contact. This is a
fast and easy way to assess possible structural traps.

After presenting the principle of the technology , we will see how
SynthRock provides the analytical tools to achieve a complete
characterization of the seismic anomaly identified using CCB processing.
SynthRock is OpendTect's forward modeling and probabilistic inversion
package. Forward modeling and fluid replacement allow modeling of the
fluid impact on your seismic together with various other parameters to
get a complete understanding of your data. The presentation will be
illustrated by an example from the F3 Demo dataset.
