Dear users,
The new OpendTect release (Development 3.1.7) brings new horizon
features for the users such as inverse distance interpolation for
2D-horizon and horizon visualization on different sections.
2D Horizon Features:
Deriving 3D horizon from 2D-horizon is a new feature in OpendTect
especially for 2D surveys. After the completion of 2D-horizon tracking
you can generate 3D-horizon:
1. In the tree > Right Click on 2D Horizon >(Select specific
2D-horizon)> Derive 3D-horizon
2. In next pop-up window you can specify the parameters for gridding:
Gridding Types:
a. Inverse Distance
b. Extension
Note: In case of (a) Specify the suitable search radius for gridding;
otherwise for (b) Mention maximum extension steps.
3. Store the output Horizon
4. You can display it either immediately after the 3D-horizon generation
process has finished (by checking the box "Display after generation" in
pop up window) or by loading it from the tree. But in the latter case,
use "Horizon" > Load > select 3D-horizon.
Horizon Visualization:
Now a 3D horizon can also be visualized on Random lines (in addition to
inline or crossline) by displaying the horizon only at sections. You can
do that as follows:
a. Display a random line
b. Load 3D-horizon in the tree
c. Right click on loaded horizon > Select "display only at sections"
The selected horizon will be displayed on random lines.
