*Parallel Programming in OpendTect*

Over the last 10 years, multi-processor workstations have gone from being
something a few experts use to something that everyone has. In theory,
increasing the number of processors should lead to the corresponding
increase in performance. Unfortunately, that seldom happens as computer
software has to be adapted to run on multiple processors. OpendTect has
gradually been adapted to multi-processor use, and a large toolbox has been
developed to easily facilitate development of plugins that utilize multiple
processors. Among the tools, there are access to threads, various lock,
classes for algorithm parallelization and queuing.****

This webinar targets software developers who are familiar with OpendTect
and want to learn how to adapt their code to multiple processors. To fully
understand the webinar, basic knowledge in C++ is a requirement.****
