Dear OpendTect users,
Horizon based attribute analysis can reveal sedimentary and
structural features, but is limited by the number of tracked
horizons. To analyze more data, horizons are often shifted, which is
in most cases only valid in the vicinity of the original horizon.
Stratal slicing (or proportional slicing) is a technique were
horizons are interpolated in-between two (or more) horizons. This
enables you to quickly analyze all available data, increasing the
probability to reveal sedimentary structures. Stratal slicing is
possible in OpendTect, through the use of the linear interpolation
option of the SSIS plugin.
Please find a Powerpoint presentation describing the entire workflow
on our website;
