Dear OpendTect users,

This email is intended for the users that are visiting the 2011 SEG annual
conference in San Antonio, and have an interest in the HorizonCube and
similar methods of full 3D structural interpretation of seismic data. The
workshop *Case Studies and Methods in Computational Seismic
Chronostratigraphy, organized *by Matthias Imhof, Tracy Stark, Huyen Bui,
Ron Masters, and Michael Pelissier will focus on this rapidly developing and
highly valuable field
(description)<http://www.seg.org/events/annual-meeting/sanantonio2011/am2011tpworkshops/f-4-casestudies>
.

Reasons you should attend workshop:

   - The workshop is highly relevant: Automated methods for full 3D
structural interpretation will more and more replace conventional horizon
interpretation done manually by interpreters. This will give the interpreter
more information on details of the structure -especially important if
complex stratigraphic structures exist- and more time to think about
geological implications of structure (rather than mapping it).
   - The workshop demonstrates value added: Full 3D structural
interpretation enables new ways of doing things. Detailed structural control
when building Reservoir Models and other Geomodels, structural consistent
background models for Seismic Inversion and 3D Seismic Sequence
Stratigraphic interpretation are just three workflow the benefit from
complete and detailed 3D structural control.
   - The workshop is a great place to network and meet both experts and
interested interpreters, see the latest case study work, ask questions and
participate in the discussion with audience, experts and presenters.

dGB will contribute to the workshop with a
paper<ftp://ftp.dgbes.com/pub/Doc/ExtractingMoreGeologyFromSeismicData-BrouwerEtAl.pdf>and
presentation outlining the latest case studies done with the
HorizonCube, demonstrating how this technology has moved from a novel
technology in development, to a robust application with clear benefits to
many standard seismic interpretation, inversion and modelling workflow.

On behalf of dGB, I hope to see you at the workshop, Friday September 23 at
the annual conference of the SEG in San Antonio. For more information,
please visit the SEG conference
webpage<http://www.seg.org/events/annual-meeting/sanantonio2011/am2011overview>or
contact the workshop's main contact, Matthias Imhoff.

Kind regards,
